While the latest quarterly review of house prices published by Nationwide show that house price growth in Northern Ireland is the fastest since records began in 1973, Newry City in County Down, topped the league for the biggest increase in property prices anywhere in the UK over the last 12 months with the average house price increasing by 54%, from £128,495 to £198,500 (Halifax Nov 2006).
